REPORT FOR ANDREA RHODES & TEAM AT THE PAWS CLINIC
Andrea Rhodes volunteered for the 5th time at the PAWS clinic and was accompanied by vet Heidi Hargreaves (who replaced Tash Pettit) and vet nurse Julie Collins. Their trip was sponsored by WVS and Marchig who donated £1500 worth of supplies to the clinic.
The team were expert at trapping and neutering feral cats and were also kept very busy with consultations. Our Greek vet Nefeli Damigou worked with them on several days during both weeks and went on request with Heidi to Antipaxos for a PAWS mobile day.
The figures for their trip are as follows:
59 cat speys + 5 on Anti Paxos – total 64
36 cat castrates + 5 on Anti Paxos – total 41
Other operations: 3 Dental and 1 eye enucleation.
Lindsay the Director of PAWS worked with the Nefeli and the team during their first week. She was very surprised but delighted to find that WVS had sent a Gold Award Certificate in recognition of PAWS work with animal welfare. The certificate (see above) is now hanging proudly in the clinic reception.
